Ingredients
A lemon sized ball Tamarind /Vaalan puli
¼ cup (finely, chopped) Shallots/Small onions
1 teaspoon Mustard seeds
1 teaspoon Fenugreek seeds
3 nos Green chilies finely chopped
2 nos Dry red Chilies
2 Springs Curry leaves
3 tablespoon Oil
Salt to taste
Directions
- Soak the tamarind in a hot of water and extract the pulp.
- Heat oil in a pan, add mustard seeds, fenugreek seeds, and let it splutter.
- Add red chilies, green chilies, and curry leaves.
- Add chopped shallots and saute them till the shallots start to give a nice aroma.
- To this, add the tamarind pulp diluted in water and salt. You can add water and dilute the tamarind pulp accordingly to the required consistency.
- Once it starts boiling, remove from the flame.
- Now our tasty Mulaku Varutha Puli is ready.
