Pazham nurukku/ Nendram Pazham nurukku / Banana Jaggery Sweet is a traditional Kerala recipe with semi-ripe plantain(Nendram Pazham). This pazham nurukku is a traditional breakfast recipe in Kerala on Thiruvonam day.
This easy snack or dessert can be prepared with ripe bananas and without Coconut. All we have to do is to slice the ripe bananas and heat them with clarified butter on a low flame. This will make the bananas nice and gold. Now we should add the jaggery or brown sugar and saute till it gets caramelized. The sugar or jaggery added should get coated on the banana slices. Once coated remove them from flame. Now our simple snack is ready without coconut.
Here I’m using 1 cup jaggery, if you don’t like more sweetness you can also reduce it accordingly. I used jaggery powder and you use jaggery syrup instead. This recipe is also served as dessert.
